Tarsus University has taken its place among the signatory institutions of the Sarajevo Higher Education Declaration, which was issued as part of the International Rectors' Meeting held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tarsus University was represented at the organization—which convened numerous academics and university leaders from around the globe—by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Murat Özkendir. Throughout the summit, strategic matters such as strengthening international ties in higher education, boosting scientific output, enhancing academic mobility, and establishing collaborative research frameworks were discussed in detail.
The declaration opened for signature during the program aims to promote a fair, balanced, and sustainable higher education ecosystem, establish lasting cooperation mechanisms among universities, and foster a shared academic vision. In the document signed by Tarsus University, emphasis was placed on supporting original scientific research, upholding academic ethical principles, and translating produced knowledge into technological advancements and societal benefit.
Furthermore, the document outlines targets for establishing joint research centers globally, supporting joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs, increasing mobility for academics and researchers, and reinforcing scientific and cultural bonds between higher education institutions across different countries.
