Applications Open for the 2027-2028 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program
The Commission for Educational Exchange Between the United States and Turkey (the Turkish Fulbright Commission) has officially opened applications for the 2027-2028 Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.
This 9-month program offers selected participants the opportunity to teach Turkish at universities in the United States while simultaneously taking at least two courses per semester at their host institutions.
Eligible Fields and Requirements:
English-Related Fields: Early-career English teachers, senior students in English Language Teaching (ELT), as well as graduates or senior students who will graduate by the end of June 2027 from departments of English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, English Linguistics, English Translation and Interpretation, and Translation Studies are eligible to apply. (Applicants from departments other than English Language Teaching must possess a Pedagogical Formation Certificate or a Master’s degree in one of the specified fields).
Other Fields: Graduates and senior students from Turkish Language Teaching, Turkish Language and Literature, Linguistics, or Journalism and Media departments may also apply. (Applicants from these fields must hold a Pedagogical Formation Certificate or a Master's degree, and have at least two years of teaching experience at the time of application).
